IPL vs VPL Permanent Hair Removal – What’s The Difference?
June 16th, 2010
There are several types of permanent hair removal treatments and the most popular ones are IPL and VPL. The general misconception regarding this is that IPL and VPL are actually laser based. But the answer is a complete no because these are light therapies. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses the concept of applying different wavelengths of light to your skin and thus targeting the hair follicles making them dead and avoiding further growth. VPL (Variable Pulsed Light) is much better than anything else that is available today. VPL produces shorter pulses of light to the target area. What it essentially does is to heat the area of impact and make it hotter than the surrounding areas. This way that area on which the light is targeted loses all its hair as it completely kills it. In about a week’s time you will notice the hair falling out.
