Using frequent flyer points to upgrade my LCD flat screen television

My brother recently mentioned that he has some frequent flyer points which he needs to use up before they expire. Whilst I couldn’t think of anything I immediately needed I did consider the fact that it is getting closer to a point in time where I will need to upgrade my LCD flat screen television. Now might be the perfect chance to allocate some points to a reduction in price on a late model set. Apparently the catalogue has a couple of sets available that can be redeemed. I have requested that he investigate whether there are any additional options available for upgrading to a cash and points deal on a more sophisticated set.
