How to influence your corporate marketing department

May 15th, 2008

In many large corporations, the marketing and sales departments tend to function as if they were their own separate entity — they have a unique perspective, and even a unique language which is all their own. If you are a business owner and want to get all of your people on board with your online marketing efforts, I would suggest that you hold a one or two day seminar, using a search marketing speaker as your principal resource person. These people will be able to speak the “lingo” of the marketing and sales staff — and will be able to help them to understand the importance of on-site and off-site webpage optimization efforts. When these people are completely onboard, they will be less likely to give you resistance to any proposed changes in the future.
