A Good Source for 12-pin Camera Connectors

October 17th, 2009

Almost all Sony, Pulnix, and Hitachi industrial cameras use a standard power connector.  But these 12-pin Camera Connectors provide more than just power.  Typically vertical and horizontal drive inputs, external trigger inputs, and even a video output signal are provided.   Universally these are Hirose Circular connectors, and more specifically use mfg part no. HR10A-12P-12S.  These can be difficult to find.  Although you can often purchase them from the manufacturer, the price is greatly inflated.  A better source is to purchase them through the camera distributor.  One good source I’ve found is www.ccddirect.com.  They not only carry the 12-pin connector, they also carry several other 8, 6, and 4 pin configuration that are popular for auxilliary control on many industrial cameras.
