New golf cart tires add utility

October 11th, 2009

My buddy uses a golf cart with a little dump bed to move materials around in his landscaping work. It’s the right size to get between houses and doesn’t tear up grass like a tractor or bobcat would. But he was having problems getting enough traction, so he replaced his typical “slick” tires (good for the golf course, not so good for traction in dirt or light mud) with “knobby” golf cart tires that give it the look of an ATV. Now his lowly dirt, rock, plant, and sod-hauler looks like a mean earth-moving machine, and he is able to get around with full loads without damaging existing landscaping.
