Online fraud and identity theft are the number one crimes which occur when using a computer. Because thieves usually have access to your computer, they can employ a number of tactics in order to obtain account information and social security numbers.

One of the main methods of gaining account numbers is keylogging. Keyloggers can be installed without your knowledge, and once installed, these programs track every single keystroke you make with your keyboard. Without identity fraud protection, nce retrieved, identity thieves scan through the file looking at all of your keystrokes to try and determine your username and password for any accounts you may have online.
