Generating New Ideas
June 24th, 2010
How do you generate new ideas. To start with, look at what others have done, and find ways to improve on that. If you see a new backpack with suspension springs, for example, think of other ways that you can add shock absorbing suspension to a backpack. An idea doesn’t have to be entirely without pre4cedent to be new and useful. If you see that people are using headlamps to explore caves, look for other sues of head lamps and design one for that purpose (for woodworkers who need a focused hands-free light on their work?). Looking at other’s ideas is one of many ways to have new ideas.
