Wine Making Barrels: Can Be Astonishing

August 19th, 2009

There are a variety of processes that are between the process of selecting the grapes and bottling them as finished wine and this process is termed vinification. Grapes are not the only wine yielding sources, there are also some fruits and non-toxic plant material which can act as source for wine. Water is one of the prime ingredients in wine; however ingredients like honey also serve as major contributor in wine like mead.

Carbonation sets apart two classes of wine making- one without it called still wine production and other with it is called sparkling wine production. Quality of wine depends on the quality of grapes which in turn is affected by weather during the growing season, soil minerals and acidity, time of harvest and pruning method. Winemaking comes to an end with bottling finished wine, after addition of a small dose of sulphite which preserves wine. My next post will be about, wine making barrels.
