The Raccoon in Our Tree Was Removed Safely by Broward County Animal Service.

October 18th, 2008

One fine summer day I looked outside and saw a raccoon in our tree. Our two young boys thought it would be fun to play with the raccoon. I made them come inside and called the Fort Lauderdale raccoon control at Broward County Animal Service.

They got our address and said they would be right over.  I was concerned about rabies, as you don’t usually see raccoons out during the day.

They came over and trapped the raccoon in order to remove it.  They said they needed to check our attic, as this was a female raccoon who looked like she had young ones some place.  They said raccoons like to have their young in attics, as the barrel roofs are easy to get into and the attics are safe.
