Social shopping. Is it like shopping with your girlfriends?

Do you go shopping with all your girlfriends or do you prefer to shop alone? If you do go with friends, do you use them for feedback while shopping? Do you trust them to tell you what they think, or if they have used a product or brand with success? If you shop on line there are communities that are becoming much like shopping with your girlfriends. Social shopping on line is similar in that you can access opinions and experiences from other people from all walks of life and with different types of needs who have no reason to give false information in regard to their feedback.
