Prevent Identity Theft - How to Hack Those Identity Thieves

In a recent study done by Unisys Security Index, sixty six percent of those surveyed stated that they feared somewhere along the way they would become victims of identity theft. That’s not really surprising since it ranks as the number one consumer complaint for the eighth year in a row. Long gone are the days when these criminals focused solely on trying to uncover the PIN number on your bank card, or they dig through your trash for account numbers and other types of personal information. These criminals are using highly sophisticated strategies in order to target businesses prevent identity theft

If someone asks you for your account number, hit the delete button and never respond to such an e-mail. Banks never ask that you never send detailed account information in an e-mail. This is because they are more than aware that criminals might intercept your e-mails. When you wish to address an issue that requires personal account information, visit your bank in person, use its secure web site, place a phone call or write a letter.
