My Survival Kit

I am looking for you advice on what to include in my survival gear that I will store away in the closet. What do you put in your own survival kits? I have been planning this for a while and I want to compare the contents of my survival gear for doomsday to the stuff you have in yours. Why did you put what you put? Who first told you about the possibility of Doomsday approaching? What are you going to do in an emergency situation? Do you have a plan in mind? Did you draw out an escape plan for your family to follow in case of emergency?
