Buying a Property in Spain

May 1st, 2009

We were hoping to buy a property in Spain – we just feel it is time to leave the UK which seems to have become overcrowded and rude. There seems to be less and less respect for people, especially the older generation and as we were soon to retire thoughts changed to leaving for the sunnier and jollier climes of southern Europe. It’s a lot harder buying property abroad of course – the property is not just in another town, it is in another country. And it is definitely recommended you visit the building. Once you have found the property you want to purchase and want to make an offer; you need of course to be able to get a mortgage in the local country. The best thing to do and the route we are taking is to use a foreign mortgage broker. They are based in the UK with contacts abroad and will work to get the best mortgage for your needs.
