April 3rd, 2009
The Nintendo Wii is a fun and popular electronic gadget. It is responsible for diverting the attention of youngsters (and not so youngsters) for hours and hours at a time. As with many things that appeal to the very young. Safety guidelines should be followed when playing with your Nintendo Wii.
1) Hold the remote firmly and do not let go. Aways wear the wrist strap. Make sure that all players using the Wii Remote are also wearing the wrist strap. Wearing the strap will prevent the Wii remote from sailing across the room when you wave it around!
2) Give yourself plenty of room! Wii players move around a lot while using it. Be careful that all areas that you play in are clear of stuff that you might trip over.
3) Seizures: Some people, about one if several thousand can experience seizures or blackouts brought about by light flashes or certain patterns. This may occur while watching TV or playing Wii or other video games even if they have never experienced a seizure before.
Anyone who has ever had a seizure, experienced blackouts, loss of awareness or other similar symptoms including those linked to an epilepsy should consult a doctor before playing with the Wii.
