Interior Door Installation
January 31st, 2010
The height is not as important, because on an interior door, particularly a rest room, you can leave some space between the base of the interior door handles and the threshold area for ventilation. When measuring for the width, there could be variations in the measurements at the top, middle, and bottom. Take away the old door and hinges and install one leaf of each new hinge in the jamb. The new door can be cut to the mandatory width, employing a circular saw. Now, with some ( doubled up or more ) shims on the floor under the door, place the door, with only one or half leaf of each new hinge attached to the jamb in the opening.
