What is Podiatry

In Asia and Eastern European countries podiatry is not much practice only in the most western countries. What podiatrists do in every country does vary substantially and it all just depends on the legislation in that country. Podiatrists have full medical and surgical scope of practice for the treatment of the foot and related structures, in USA. About 10 years of training is to achieve. And in European countries the training is just about 2 years. This is reflected in the scope of practice in those countries, where Podiatrists there can only treat minor foot problems and can not use or perform any surgical interventions.
