Surgical Options For Weight Loss
February 7th, 2010
When researching weight control surgical options for a close friend of mine, let’s call him Aaron, we found a number of viable possibilities. One interesting option was a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. It works by pure restriction of the amount of food that can be taken in before a full feeling takes place. It was one of three options suggested including gastric bypass and laparoscopic banding. We liked the idea of VSG because it because it did not involve all sorts of bypass tubes and staples. Also regular caloric intake occurs only upon a smaller amount of food. The VSG seems to have fewer side effects than the other two procedures.
