Relation Between Alzheimer’s Disease And Type 3 Diabetes

February 13th, 2009

There were only two types of diabetes known to people; Type 1 and Type 2. But recently a new discovery has revealed that there is yet another type of diabetes where the brain is unable to produce insulin hence unbalancing the glucose levels in the brain which results in diabetic coma or even death. it is called Type 3 diabetes. Many scientists have also tried to correlate this type of diabetes with Alzheimer’s disease. They hope that treatment for type 3 diabetes may also be helpful to Alzheimer’s patients. Studies also suggest that people who have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes are more likely to be affected by type 3 diabetes. So controlling diabetes early on in life can help you prevent Alzheimer’s later on in life.
