People’s Genes are Different

June 19th, 2008

Tissue samples taken from people in San Diego vs. those in say, France could easily be told apart now using a DNA microarray. This is all due to the beauty that is modern genomics and Gene Sequencing. Sure this may not be the most useful thing, asking someone where they are from is certainly faster and cheaper, but science is far more fun, and the applications of something like this are endless. Ancestry itself is like a genetic smorgasbord, you look back at your ancestors and for the most part you’ll see that you usually come from many different countries and racial groups. Now that the world is so small, and people are free to love who they want (in most places) ancestries are going to start linking all over the place.
