Low Fat Diet – Does It Prevent Heart Disease?

October 19th, 2008

According to Dr. Dwight Lundell, a heart surgeon with more than 25 years of experience and co-author of the new book The Cure for Heart Disease—Unmasking the Real Cause of Heart Disease, a low fat diet is no help at all for preventing heart disease. There is no evidence to support the low-fat theory in the first place. However, the low fat diet continues to be promoted by US government, the medical establishment, and almost all major food manufacturers in the United States. In the meantime, the heart disease situation is getting out of control and the people in the country is getting no less fatter. Dr Lundell advocate studies on the effect of food on the body rather than focusing on what goes into the body and when those foods enter the metabolic process.
