Hearing impairment is measured by the amount of level of loss in what are called decibels (dB) hearing level (HL). First you have to protect your ears from over stimulation. Communication between two people works best when the listener can set aside any personal feelings about the speaker or the topic and simply listens to allow the conversation to flow back and forth. Listening to loud music with or without ear phone can damage your ear and make them less sensitive as you age. When the listener is able to hear the speaker comfortably then he is able to just sit back and listen. Whether you’re a musician or just a music lover, playing your music too loud on a regular basis can cause hearing related problems. If you only hear sounds above 25 dB HL, your loss may be mild, moderate, or severe. Severe hearing losses, which is loss over 60 decibels, would require that people shout for the impaired person to hear them. So, protect your ears from loud noises, especially if these noises are heard for long periods at time. A major problem with hearing loss is that 90% of the time the loss is so subtle and gradual that people don’t always notice it until it’s too late and some loss has occurred. Inflammation can cause loss of hearing and permanent damage to your ear. Many musicians now use ear monitors to keep down the levels of sound they absorb on the stage while performing. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables or chose a good anti-oxidant supplement to get the anti-oxidants that will protect your ears from free radical damage. As the problem worsens, the loss of the lower tone reception soon follows. Use MSM eye drops in your ears to keep your ear drum flexible so it can vibrate and give you hearing.
