Fitness When You’re Just Starting Out

February 9th, 2008

Say you’re just starting out on your fitness program. What should you do? Well, one of the best things is to join a gym – and use it! That may sound obvious, and it is, but many people get gym memberships and just never go.

When you join the gym, they should give you a program at your induction. This will take into account your current fitness levels, experience at the gym, and your goals. It’s a great place to start.

But if you want to do some work at home as well, you could try doing some squats, bench press, chins or pulldowns, military press, and dips. Three times a week would be optimum. And when you’re not doing weights, on the off days, you can go for a run.
