Finding Solutions For My Gassy Dog

August 23rd, 2009

Does anyone else have Labrador retrievers with a gas problem? Am I the only one? The old boy loves to go for car rides with me but after a while, the cab of the truck stinks so bad I can’t wait to get out. A retriever breeder who is a friend of mine recently suggested I look up prozyme products, as she thought they could help balance the bacteria in my dog’s stomach. An imbalance of good versus bad bacteria could be what’s causing his excessive gas, so I looked them up and found this article. It says this prozyme stuff tastes good to pets, which is a boon since everything else I’ve tried to give him seems to taste awful (or at least smell awful). I haven’t noticed a problem with my cat, but I wonder if this could help with that litter box smell.
