A Search For Alcohol Info and the EtG Urine Alcohol Test

September 18th, 2008

I remember doing a search for some basic alcohol info about alcohol tests and reading about a young man who feared failing an alcohol test that was scheduled the next workday.  Without going into great detail, the young man stated that he never wanted to return to jail again and because of this fact, he was fearful that he might have to become incarcerated once again if he fails his alcohol test.  What triggered this person’s greatest fear, however, was that he had read about an alcohol test called the EtG urine alcohol test that was able to detect alcohol 80 hours after it has been metabolized by the body.  Since the court ordered him to totally refrain from drinking and because he consumed his last drink within the past 60 hours, it was highly possible that he would fail an EtG test and meet the judge once again.  I know this sounds insensitive and “too easy,” but if the young man was so worried about failing an alcohol test and returning to jail, why didn’t he get alcohol treatment so that he could stop drinking and stop worrying about taking alcohol tests?
