Pregnancy Stages

August 31st, 2010

The different pregnancy stages feature various developments in the fetus. In the first trimester, the baby’s organs such as brain, spinal cord and heart begin to form while the arm and leg buds appear. As it continues growing, the heart develops a regular rhythm and the toes, fingers and sex organs begin developing. The second stage features the formation of the skin, muscle tissue, bones, eyebrows, lashes and finger and toenails. In the third trimester, the baby’s movements are more forceful and the lungs are not fully formed, the body begins storing minerals and the eyes can react as light changes. When the baby is 37 weeks old, it is considered full term because all the organs have developed and can function on their own
