Answer Each and Every Phone Call
November 17th, 2011
I am an employee at a local business in my area. After a competing business moved locations, we have been getting more and more customers. The new customers are great, and the owner seems to be really pleased with the added business we are now receiving. He talks about expanding, and maybe hiring more employees to deal with the additional customers. It is great, and I have even been able to work more hours because of this. There is only one problem. They phones are ringing twice as much as they used to and since only two employees work at a time, sometimes the calls go unanswered when both employees are busy with customer. I told the company owner about this issue, and he talked about hiring an answering service to handle the calls when we cannot. He thought it over and decided that missed calls are just more missed business ventures, and perspective clients. By answering the phone every time it rings, this company will bring in even more money. So, we finally got an answering service, and it has lifted a weight of my shoulders. It is really difficult to talk to a customer in person, while the phone is ringing in the background, and then employee next to you is talking on the phone, and telling you there is call waiting. Hiring this service will make things less stressful for employees, and more beneficial to the company.
