What is Alexa Ranking

Alexa is a kind of a search engine company. A toolbar that people can install in the web browsers (Internet Explorer or Firefox) is there main product. They then gather data from users as to what sites they visit to rank sites by traffic. Google is ranked number one very unexpectedly,. Most anti-virus programs consider the Alexa toolbar to be malware and installing it may set off alerts. In some quarters the Alexa rankings are in use sincerely, but they are really biased towards the types of sites that the technically savvy people visit. It is only the technically savvy people that install the Alexa toolbar.
