The Convenience Edge of A Payment Gateway
May 15th, 2009
A merchant payment gateway is any service that connects a businessman’s merchant account to his issuing merchant bank. When a credit card payment is made, this is reported to a merchant payment gateway which then processes the validation of the credit card used by the customer to pay. When the card is valid, the merchant and his issuing bank will be informed and a transfer of credit to the merchant account will then be facilitated. With this payment gateway, convenience is made available both for the customer, who will have the freedom to use his credit card, and for the merchant who will not have to go through the hassles of a traditional payment scheme.
