Testing Postive For Celiac Disease

June 12th, 2010

Often a misdiagnosed disease, Celiac disease can result in various symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pains and fatigue and can also lead to more serious damage of the intestine as well as depression, infertility problems and arthritis. Once you have been diagnosed with the disease by celiac testing you will be given a gluten free diet and it is important to follow this diet as any relapse can trigger the disease again. Foods such as cereals containing Rye, Malt, Wheat and Barley should be avoided along with reducing your intake of alcohol such as vodka, gin and malt.A shift in your diet will see an almost immediate result and as long as you catch the disease early on, your intestine should repair itself and your health and well being will most certainly improve.
