Protection and penalties
September 27th, 2008
We are so lucky to live in a country that protects it’s citizens and their property. When you or I invent something we have the right to have it reviewed by the government patent office. If they find it to be original they will give the right to restrict it’s use or a patent. Then if someone else uses it without permission you can sue them in civil court, get an injunction and possibly damages for what it cost you for them to use it. Other countries are even more strict in their regulation of patents. Instead of civil penalties, they have criminal ones.
