Obtaining a Patent in Florida
February 9th, 2008
The State of Florida has its own Trademark office where anyone can protect his or her intellectual rights within that state. This is an alternative to filing with the US Patent & Trademark Office in Arlington, Virginia.
The process involves visiting lindsay patent attorneys. On this site, they have a special section, which contain the forms to download in order to file your patent. All forms come with instructions and they are very easy to follow. It is important that as with any trademark, you do not copy someone else’s work.
The disadvantage of filing within the state level is that if you do business in another state, you have to file there to. In addition, anyone in any state can use your trademark unless you file at a federal level.
