Monitoring the market to top up Roth 401K and IRA investments

With the market currently moving down it has prompted me to consider my retirement account. Whilst no one likes to see the value of a portfolio diminish it can also signal a great time to start to investigate bargains that are worth investing in. In particular, it is a great time to save a little more money and to choose companies that have great long term prospects. I can then top up my Roth 401K and IRA investments. When the inevitable turn around comes, you can greatly benefit form having dollar cost averaged your purchasers. A friend introduced me to this concept and it has definitely made a difference to my returns given the effect of compounding over the long term.
