Looking for a New Home

We need to move since my husband is getting transferred, and we are having trouble deciding what we are going to do about getting a new home. We don’t want to buy right away because we are not sure how long we will be staying in the area. We were thinking of renting a town house, but we aren’t sure about having a connecting wall with our neighbors, even if it is a party wall. My husband is worried we will still be able to hear through the wall. Neither of us have ever lived in a place with a wall like that so we aren’t sure what to expect.
