Junior dresses and clothing

February 23rd, 2008

Swimwear formal dresses, jeans, and sleepwear are various categories in women’s apparel. Although many of the early men’s and boys’ clothing and accessory stores evolved into large department stores, the small independent shops continued to flourish throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Typically, the most difficult parts of an item of clothing like junior dresses to sew — and thus, to replicate — are sleeves, any pieces with curved shapes, collars, and detailing. While clothing pockets are now commonplace, they have had a relatively short history; for prior to this innovation, small items were stored in enlarged cuffs or in hand-carried purses or pouches.
