How to grow your small business during tough economic times

I know what you are thinking “who can think about growing their business right now, when I am just trying to survive!”…  that is not an uncommon statement.   But when you think about it, this is the best time to grow your small business.  Most business owners pull back on advertising, which reduces the cost and leaves huge opportunities for big deals.   Most companies are downsizing, leaving highly qualified people without a job.   This is when you can grab highly qualified (in some cases over-qualified) people to help grow your business.  The small business owners will look to expand in a down economy, versus cutting back.
