How to deal with Credit Card Debt

December 19th, 2008

Many people have accumulated much credit card debt, and often use Debt Consolidation methods to help themselves out of their financial situation. Credit Cards companies are restricted in the amount they can charge by way of usury laws, but these tend to be state specific, and are very different from state to state. The credit card companies therefore operate out of states where they can charge more. A consumer with too much debt can consolidate high interest rate debt cards onto credit cards with much smaller interest amounts, perhaps a company that operates out of state with lesser allowed interest amounts. An even better idea is to move debt onto cards with a zero percent interest time period, though it is important to get that debt off of that credit card before the expiration date, as there are usually high fees after that point.
