Everyone Needs to Understand Credit

April 8th, 2009

When my sons were growing up, I made sure they understood how credit works before they knew how to drive.  That may seem strange but I spent too many years paying back debt just because I didn’t understand credit.  My teen aged sons were required to explain to me how a credit card works, what a credit report is, and what interest is.  By the time they were old enough to have their own jobs and buy cars, they were haggling with dealers like old pros.  My nagging paid off recently when the boys found they are in excellent financial shape, even with todays’ economy.
