Electronic data management for the shop floor

November 13th, 2008

Managing an entire plant floor electronically can give an incredible amount of efficiency to what used to be an inefficient system to a point. The electronic data management for the shop floor utilises high tech software and integrated computer equipment to manage everything from the function of the plant, to error checking and safety check sums. In many instances, problems can be predicted far before they become expensive damage to the equipment. This also provides more safety to the engineers who instead of being out on the floor working with dangerous equipment is sitting behind a touch screen computer terminal managing the systems remotely!
