Car Dealerships Use Promotional Items

Just over a year ago, my husband and I were on a quest to find a new car. At the time, we had two cars, but one was on its last legs (or wheels), and we were expecting our second child in a few short months. In keeping with worldly tradition, I was doing most of the shopping. I had never car shopped before, so this was quite exciting for me. I knew our targeted budget so I knew my limits. I also did quite well at playing the naive wife who was “just looking”. It was amazing, however, how many promotional items I received from various dealerships. Do these trinkets actually draw in customers? The one promotional item I was impressed with was the weekend vacation that came “with the purchase of any new vehicle.” Too bad we were looking for a “previously owned” model.
