California health insurance, what’s a HMOPPOPOS?

For individuals purchasing California health insurance for the first time, all of the terminology can sometimes be very confusing. Employees may have difficulty understanding which type of health plan they are covered under and what level of California health insurance will best meet their needs. The following terms describe some of the more basic types of policies offered. If you work for a small company, chances are you will not have too many choices when shopping for health care coverage. However, many of the large corporations and companies today allow their employees to choose from numerous types of health care providers. Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Point of Service plan (POS) are some of the better known types of California health insurance options.
