Renewing my Registration
May 8th, 2008
You would think that registration would be pretty easy. I mean, you mail in a payment and suddenly you have a sticker in the mail entitling you to drive your car for one more year. Sounds simple, right? However, this year I had to get a smog check in Cameron Park CA. You see, I was visiting my sister, who lives in Shingle Springs, for a few weeks while she went through cancer treatments, and I was not expecting to have to smog the car. But, low and behold, my husband called and said that we got the smog notice in the mail and it was due really soon. So, I called around to different smog places for pricing, finally deciding on one in Cameron Park. I was rushed the day of the appointment, needing to hurry in order to pick up my sister for a doctor’s appointment. In the process of my hurrying, I completely forgot the smog receipt! My husband tells me that the smog place will send in a copy to the DMV, and I hope so because I have no way of proving I even got a smog check now!
