Pass Plus and Young Drivers

February 8th, 2009

I passed my test at the beginning of 2008 but couldn’t afford to buy a car straightaway, let alone pay for the insurance, petrol, maintenance, tax and the long list of expenses that come with running a car. Luckily my parent let me borrow their car and also added me as a named driver to their insurance, as well as footing the bill. Where I had managed to save a little money during 2008 I decided to spend it on taking the Pass Plus test, which helps new drivers to become more experienced drivers, teaching us about driving under certain conditions, like heavy rain or motorway driving. I knew in the long run this would save me money on car insurance. And it did, I managed to purchase an insurance policy which took into account the fact that I had passed my Pass Plus test, and as an unexpected bonus, they also gave me a discount in recognition of my clean record as a named insurer on my parents insurance. Great!
