Fifth wheel coupling 2

The fifth wheel coupling provides the link between a semi-trailer and the towing truck, tractor unit, leading trailer or dolly. Some recreational vehicles RVs are in a fifth wheel configuration, requiring the coupling to be installed in the bed of a pickup truck as a towing vehicle. The coupling consists of a coupling pin (or king pin) on the front of the semi-trailer and a horseshoe-shaped coupling device called a fifth wheel on the rear of the towing vehicle. Sometimes called a turn-table in Australia and New Zealand, especially if it’s a rotating ball-race-bearing type. The term fifth wheel comes from a similar coupling used on four-wheel horse-drawn carriages and wagons. The device allowed the front axle assembly to pivot in the horizontal plane, to improve turning.

Never Grow Up

Who says that we have to grow up? I remember when my wife and I moved into our new home. She said it was just like playing house, only bigger. And I agreed with her. That year, we fixed everything up the way we wanted it, hired an Anaheim pool contractor to build us our dream pool, and even tried our hands at gardening. Let’s just say that we don’t have green thumbs… or fingers for that matter. But it was a great experience. Sure there were bills and trials, but I think that any couple can resist growing up if they just remember that life doesn’t have to get you down. So live it up!

Contest for Kids at our Family Feast

Every year in the late fall, our family prepares for a big feast.  The feast is never at the same family member’s home two years in a row, it has to rotate.  There is always some kind of activity planned for the children, whether it be a craft project or a cooking project.  It is up to the member that is holding the feast to decide what the project is.  This year, I am the lucky one who gets to do all the cooking.  I decided that I wanted all the kids to write Thanksgiving poems.  They all had to be unique and in their own words.  The kid that writes the best one is going to receive an iPod for their efforts.  We have lots of kids in our family, so this should be a fun contest for all.

Probate estate settlement lawyer help be will business sale

The only bigger headache than running a small family business if having to run it for one of your deceased family members. My brother had a auto repair company in Detroit, Michigan. When he died suddenly in a car accident I was appointed under his probate estate to be the executor. I really had no experience in settling an estate, so I hired an estate settlement attorney who showed me the ropes. He made it so much easier. With the attorneys help we were able to find a buyer for the auto repair shop. The good news is the family members who were mechanics were able to stay on. People always need good mechanics.

Preparing House for Sale With New Tub

We did it! We managed to convert our three bedroom, bath and a half house to a four bedroom two bathroom house. A couple of years ago, we added on a bedroom. Our realtor told us this year that with out two full baths, the extra bedroom does not significantly bump up the price. We were really disappointed. Then we thought of the small freestanding bathtubs we had seen at a recent home show. “Eureka”, I exclaimed, “we’ll make money on this for sure!” Soon we had the tub installed. We love it so much that we have included one in the plans for our new house.

The Trouble With Online Jewelry Engraving

While I think jewelry engraving is a great gesture and very heartfelt there are certain issues that come with jewelry engraving, particularly when ordering engraved jewelry online. When purchasing jewelry online and having it engraved prior to seeing the product one of the many risks you take is not knowing the actual quality of the product you are purchasing. Items online often look of better quality than they actually are and engraving cheaper products results in cracking of the item or raising of the edges around the engraving making it look cheap and gaudy. My advice, when purchasing online jewelry, is to have it delivered and to get it engraved yourself at a local jeweler.
