We Switched to Direct TV Pennsylvania

When my husband and I moved to Pennsylvania we went back and forth about whether we should purchase cable or Direct TV. After much discussion we chose cable because of the package deals that they offered, and boy was that a mistake. From the beginning we had problems, or Internet was too slow, the phones did not work, and the cable would go out for no reason. After a couple of months we got smart and switched to Direct TV Pennsylvania and we are glad that we did. We have had no more issues, the picture is always crystal clear and they offer a lot more selection than we ever got from cable.

Top 10 Mistakes In Managing Your Credit

Do you really know how to manage your credit effectively?  Take a look at these top ten debt management mistakes that must be avoided:

1. Paying your bills late or the day after your due date.  If you want to raise your credit score, late payments is a big NO.

2. Closing your old bad credit card just because you applied for a new card.  This would mean closing the old part of your credit history which can significantly pull down your overall rating.

3. Not having any type of credit.  You won’t be building your credit history if you won’t take credit.

4. Submitting multiple credit card applications to different issuers at once. Too many inquires on your credit report could raise doubts to your lenders.

5. Not getting a student credit card if you’re a student.  A student credit card requires no credit history so you can use it to build one.

6. Ordering your credit report from unreliable online sources.  Make sure that your credit report is issued by the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion).

7. Providing or using false information in your credit applications.  Never try to impress lenders by providing false information.

8. Applying for a very high credit limit.  A high credit limit is fine if you can control your spending.

9. Disregarding the fact that your billing statements that never reach you.  Call your bank right away if your billing statements do not reach you on time.  Someone may have called your bank and changed your billing address to keep you from finding out unauthorized charges.

10. Paying only the minimum of your credit card balance.  Paying only the minimum means paying more than your actual purchases’ worth because of the interest rate.

Be Careful and Avoid Id Theft

Certain things that you can do to avoid id theft is to have your name removed from credit bureaus as this will help you from getting  pre-approved credit mailings. Be aware of shoulder surfing while you are at the local atm and keep your password safe. This is a practice also targeted by criminals to quickly drain your bank account. When you receive mailings make sure to cross shred them as this is a great way to keep personal information, just that, personal and away from prying eyes. Protect your belongings and avoid id theft.
