Pet Tricks on Tape

My kids love watching Animal Planet and all the different shows about pets and animal rescue and especially the pet tricks and funniest pet video shows.  They’ve been trying to get our dog and cat to do funny things or learn some tricks so they can record it.

They’ve had our JVC Everio GZ-MG505 camcorder set up on a tripod for the past week trying to capture that perfect moment to send in to one of their favorite shows.  Much to their disappointment it’s not going very well.  The dog loves to play, but she just doesn’t seem interesting in doing tricks.

My Super Healthy Best Friend

One of my best friends here at college is the type of person who takes really good care of herself. She loves to exercise and eat healthy foods. I give her a lot of credit because personally, I cannot pass up the greasy hamburgers from the local drive- thru. It did not surprise me when she announced one evening that she was going to become a yoga teacher to help pay some of her school bills. She encouraged me to sign up for her class, which I did because I felt that it was important to show my support. After the first class, I was not sure if I wanted to go back, but she insisted that I not give up. Now, after a month, I love it! I feel so much healthier and stronger. It was well worth the initial pain.

Downsizing in Style

My Aunt Joan and Uncle Bob have always been the hardest working people I know. They’ve built, bought, and sold two businesses and put three kids through college.

So when they decided to downsize and move to Florida, I applauded.

Soon, with their usual efficiency, they were researching the advantages and disadvantages of Daytona Beach condos versus smaller houses.

They looked into everything from the local weather to whether or not they could still get their favorite pizza delivered. Then they made their move.

These days the hardest work they’re doing is deciding whether to have croissants or omelets for breakfast on the terrace.

What’s the Low-Down on Blue Cross of Georgia

Since the 1930s, Georgia residents have been able to get health insurance through blue cross of Georgia and its predecessor organizations. It started in 1937 when the Atlanta Blue Cross Plan was formed. Other plans started up and through a series of mergers, Georgians ended up in 1985 with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia.

The current President of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia is Monye Connolly. The organization he runs works to provide health care services to literally millions of people. It has received accreditation from the National Center for Quality Assurance for its HMO and POS products and from the American Accreditation Healthcare Commission/URAC for its PPO product.

One of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia’s distinctive features is the "360 Degree Health" program. This program encourages improved individual health by focusing on education on healthy living, preventative care, and case management and coordination. Some of the specific facets of it are programs to help people stop smoking and get more exercise through regular walking. There are also a variety of newsletters including one specializing in Women’s Health published as part of the program. Also, discounts are made available for eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, fitness club memberships, and more.

Domain Names and Trademarks

The internet is a great place for businesses and individuals to reach a wider market. Whether their intent is to inform, sell products, or for entertainment, websites are created everyday. WIth the domain name system, it is difficult to enforce an entitlement to specific domain names for entities with trademark holdings. The internet is a global system and the rights of domain names cannot be guaranteed to anyone, even those with trademarks. There is a case for an entity when someone under the domain name is using the website to compete against trademark holders, especially when the trademark was established before the website creation.
